We can all agree that the world is wrong a lot of the time.

When it comes to movies that enjoy undeserved bad reputations like “Solo: A Star Wars Story” and “Mortdecai”, “Brown Bunny” and “Rules Don’t Apply”, or films most people have never seen like “Chameleon Street” and “One Trick Pony” and “The Strange Love of Martha Ivers”, Andras Jones & Bryan Connolly have made it their mission to put themselves between the wrong world and these cinematic treasures.

The World Is Wrong podcast is bound by no genres or eras. From their first episode (featuring a two and a half hour interview with “Mad Dog Time” aka “Trigger Happy” director Larry Bishop) to their two-part celebration of film composer, Jon Brion (that closed out 2020), Andras and Bryan have made it clear they consider no film (or film artist) beyond the pale of respectful consideration.

A recent episode about “Jack & Jill” makes a strong case that the hostility directed at this very funny and inclusive holiday movie needs to be examined and discussed in the context of the film’s commentary on sexism and anti-semitism.

2021 promises episodes on Tyler Perry’s “Temptation: Confessions of A Marriage Counselor”, “Johnny Cool” starring Henry Silva & Elizabeth Montgomery (from 1963), “The Horse’s Mouth” starring & written by Alec Guinness (from 1958) and a whole month devoted to the proposition that Nicole Kidman is one of the greatest actors on the planet.

We invite the critical community to challenge our assertions on their merits.
